Full color natural cleft flagstone, the classic flagging for patios. Sold as pattern flagging or broken irregular flagstone.

Genuine Pennsylvania stone

Real Pennsylvania bluestone — not an imported imitation

Everything we sell is authentic Pennsylvania bluestone and blue slate out of the Endless Mountains, sorted right here in Throop. Plenty of "bluestone" on the market today is soft sandstone or limestone shipped in from India, China, Brazil, Vietnam or Europe under a borrowed name. It looks close on a sample board — then it spalls, fades and delaminates after a few Northeastern winters. PA bluestone is denser, absorbs less water, holds its color all the way through and comes at honest thickness.

Quarried, not imported

Off local Endless Mountains ledges and sorted in our own yard — you know the quarry and the truck.

Survives our winters

Dense feldspathic sandstone with low absorption, proven against freeze-thaw cycles, salt and plows.

Color and thickness you can trust

Bring us a drawing, a template or a rough sketch on a napkin. We cut blue slate and flagstone to size, run bullnose and chiseled edges, thermal or natural cleft faces, and fabricate treads, hearths, sills, wall caps, pool coping, mantels, address stones and oversized one-off pieces. Odd sizes, matched color runs and repeat production for contractors and dealers are all things we do regularly — not exceptions.
